While the North East weather remained dry, the day was marked by quite a brisk wind. However, the conditions were no match for the iconic VW, which performed perfectly, navigating the gusts with ease as it ferried the wedding party across the city.

Once the ceremony was concluded and the “I dos” were exchanged, the newlyweds celebrated their first moments as husband and wife in the back of the van. Sipping chilled prosecco, Lindsey and John enjoyed a relaxing journey away from the city centre towards the historic Penshaw Monument.

Their final stop was the reception venue, The Prospect, nestled in the shadow of the famous landmark, where family and friends gathered to continue the celebrations.

Due to the late afternoon timing and the recent clock change, the ceremony and post-ceremony travel took place entirely after sunset—a unique first for the chauffeur! Despite the darkness, the celebratory atmosphere was bright, and the vintage Campervan proved incredibly popular with all the guests.

Following their vows, the newlyweds were whisked away for their photo session at a truly unconventional location: the South Shields Skatepark. This unusual choice was a nod to the groom’s passion for BMX biking, offering a fun and personal backdrop for their first official photos as a married couple.

The unique photos complete, the happy couple were then driven to their reception venue at the nearby Hedworth Hall to join their friends and family for the celebrations.
