St. Mary's Church in Heworth was the beautiful setting today for the marriage of Nicola and Martin, a sunny celebration that featured a dash of vintage charm and a minor moment of drama!
The wedding transport for the bridal party was a beloved vintage 1976 VW Campervan, which added a distinct, cheerful flair to the day. The van collected the bride and her party from the Holiday Inn in Boldon.
Despite the day being sunny and dry, albeit a bit windy, the journey had a small hiccup. The bride experienced a slight wardrobe malfunction, which caused a brief delay, meaning Nicola was almost late for her own ceremony! Luckily, the issue was resolved swiftly, and the bridal party made it to the church in time.
Upon arrival, the vintage Campervan was an instant hit, drawing smiles and admiration from all the guests who gathered to celebrate the couple.
Following the heartfelt ceremony, the newlyweds climbed aboard the iconic VW for a celebratory ride. Nicola and Martin were chauffeured straight back to the Holiday Inn Boldon, where their guests were eagerly awaiting them to commence the reception party.
The mix of vintage style and perfectly timed arrivals made for a memorable start to married life for Nicola and Martin. We send our warmest wishes to the happy couple!
